Restaurant Review: Jap's

A sushi house a couple blocks from my apartment, across from the park Olhos de Agua. The sushi was surprisingly well priced, with all the typical choices as well as a cone like type that is most popular here in Brasilia. The sushi itself was good, certainly well worth the reasonable price. Most of all I enjoyed the atmosphere, with the chairs and tables a cool Japanese style, and a sushi bar with big screen tv.

Overall a good place, one of which I will return many times.

Brazilian Beer Review: Baden Baden Red Ale

From Campos do Jordao this is among the best and most potent beers brewed in Brazil. Rarely found at restaurants since Brazilians prefer to drink piss like pilsen at nearly frozen temperatures rather than paying a bit more for a drinkable beer, one usually must buy this at the market. It is pricey, sometimes as much 12 reals for a bottle, but well worth it. The more than 9% alcohol packs a punch that goes well with the strong taste, and even the bottle has a sexy shape that looks all the better after a few. Drink up!

Rating: 5.5 cans (out of 6)
